22 May AirArts Books
Last month saw the launch of the second edition of ‘colour me, read me’; a booklet filled with short stories written by our wonderful staff and illustrated in detail to allow for some serious colouring in. The books were launched during patient experience week at the end of April and 2,000 have been distributed to patients on wards and in outpatient clinics.
Alongside these books, we also published ‘What a Day’ for the children’s hospital. This was a story written by an ex-patient Elizabeth Stevens and illustrated by her great –grandchildren. The books will be distributed to our younger children’s hospital patients throughout the year. Let us know what you think of them [email protected]
Air Arts was established in 2007 as the in-house arts programme for Derby Teaching Hospitals. Air Arts offers a wide range of artistic and creative activities for patients, staff and visitors at The Royal Derby and London Road Community Hospitals, to provide moments of distraction from illness, aid wellbeing and improve the hospital experience for everyone.
Air Arts relies entirely on charitable donations and public funding to deliver this innovative programme of wellbeing through the arts. If you would like to find out more about what we do or support our work please contact us
