New Stephanie Cole murals

We are really excited about our new murals at London Road Community Hospital.

These were created by Stephanie Cole to enhance the new Specialist Rehabilitation Unit at the hospital. Stephanie worked on a brief devised through consultation with patients and staff at the hospital to create a welcoming, relaxing environment based on local landmarks. The hospital will see patients from both Derby and Burton catchment, so the mural depicts landmarks from both cities. The work was funded by charitable funds from specialist departments in the hospital. who also advised on the design to suit patients undergoing rehabilitation for a wide range of neurological conditions.

Stephanie chose a colour scheme to support the existing wayfinding colour scheme which zones the hospital into colour coded areas to support patient find their way around.
